Water lapping at your feet...a gentle breeze at your side...as you smartly zip and glide across the crystalline lake on a sailboard. This image becomes a reality in Waukeela's windsurfing program.
Campers get their feet wet by playing games on the boards to gain their balance and a sense of comfort. Next, instruction is provided on how to read the wind and handle the sail. Younger campers will primarily spend their time with balance games, while older campers may progress to sailing across and around Crystal Lake. Since the Lake is small and no motorboats are allowed, it's a completely safe and perfectly lovely spot to learn this increasingly popular water sport.
