Session Length

Waukeela operates two 4-week sessions each summer. 90% of our campers attend for one 4-week period or the other. Less than a handful attend both.

We also offer an “Introductory” 2-week option for first time campers who are entering 3rd – 5th grade in the fall. Such campers enroll for the first 2 weeks of either 4-week session. Because we do not bring anyone into their cabins behind them, they all have the option to stay for the final two weeks if they so desire. The 2-week option is not available for returning campers, nor for any new campers going into 6th grade or higher.

Attending for 2 weeks at a 4 week camp like Waukeela is the equivalent of going to a really great movie but leaving exactly half way through – just after you’ve met the cast of characters and developed an understanding of the story, but before you have a chance to see the characters develop and experience how everything comes together in the end. Thus we strongly encourage our 2-week camp families to give their daughter the chance to stay for the final two weeks if she wishes.
