Rockclimbing

For those girls who have always dreamed of scaling new heights, Waukeela offers a program to help them achieve just that. Campers can participate in two rock climbing trips per session to one of the many nearby climbing areas in the White Mountains.

Professional guides from the International Mountain Climbing School in North Conway teach our campers all the ropes, both literally and figuratively. Proper safety equipment is provided, and campers are thoroughly instructed in its use.

Basic climbing principles are then demonstrated by the instructors on the rock face itself. Top ropes are placed at various heights to challenge both first-time climbers and those who are very experienced. Campers are encouraged to climb as high as they feel comfortable, but are never pushed beyond their ability or comfort zone.
