Pottery is a perpetual favorite with campers of all ages at Waukeela. The pottery studio contains two wheels, and classes are kept small to ensure each girl has a chance to receive individualized instruction. Over the course of the session a camper can sculpt, glaze, and fire her clay projects and then take her work home to enjoy in the off-season. Some of the pieces created by campers include pinch-pots, coil-pots, slab pots, whistles, bells, picture frames, masks, mugs and bowls.

"The relaxed nature of the airy pottery studio was a perfect environment for the campers to be able to work at their own pace and let their imaginations run loose through their hands. Many hours were spent mastering throwing techniques on the potter's wheel; even the very youngest campers were able to experience the joys of seeing a lump of clay transformed before their very eyes."………..Rebecca Cole, Pottery Instructor
