Overnight camping is an entirely optional activity at Waukeela, but it is an important goal of this camp to help every girl learn to feel safe - and completely at home - in the natural world. OLS is the place where this happens.
As both practice for and encouragement of her participation on our adventure trips, she will learn the basics of setting up a camp, building a fire, and cooking over an open flame (S'mores and other yummy stuff!) Older campers will learn to use topographic maps and compasses, with more advanced classes challenging them to complete orienteering courses and even map out their own path for others to follow!
