A typical day in camp is made up of 5 activity periods, 2 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. Waukeela schedules the daily activities for younger campers so that each girl gets to try every activity offered. Campers age 12 and above choose their own activities each day by "tagging" - selecting a tag for what they want to do and hanging it on the programs board.
All 18 activities fall into one of five departments: Boating, Creative Arts, Land Sports, Performing Arts, and Swimming. Instructional swimming in Crystal Lake is the only activity required for every camper each day. No camper will do any activity twice in one day because variety is what it’s all about!
