Gill & Graham Moore – Directors of Camp Waukeela
Gillian & Graham Moore are entering their 6th summer at Waukeela having first experienced the Pine Grove in summer 2015 on a visit to see their daughters Ellie & Rosie who were both counselors that summer. Their two sons spent 4 summers as campers and are now counselors at a camp in Maine. Gill & Graham have also completed 5 successful summers at Trails End Camp in Pennsylvania in the 80’s & 90’s and the Moore’s truly are a camp family.
Gill & Graham met and fell in love at high school in their native Liverpool, England and have spent the past 23 years as devoted parents. They know exactly what it takes to bring a family up, they also know how it feels to drop their kids off at camp for a summer leaving someone else to look after them. Your daughters will be in safe hands as they are not just Directors but they are Mom & Dad to all the campers & staff whilst at Waukeela.
Every Tuesday evening for the past eight years, Gill & Graham have run “G Time”, Waukeela’s unique girls Wellbeing program. The couple take all the girls into the Lodge and using the oldest campers, the Scotch Pines, as group leaders, they lead a series of activities & workshops to develop self-esteem and improve the wellbeing of the campers. It has become one of the most popular programs at Waukeela. They really do know & love every girl at Waukeela.
